Geospatial / GIS Temporary Opportunities

Surdex has a great opportunity for you to gain experience producing high quality GIS and Image Processing products.

Due to our high volume of project work we are hiring immediately for the following geospatial positions on a short term basis. Duration of the assignment may be adjusted if project needs change. This position does not offer any benefits including insurance, holiday pay or paid time off.

General requirements in addition to the specifics for each job:

• Degree in Geography, GIS, Earth Sciences or related programs is preferred
• Related coursework plus experience will be considered
• Strong computer skills and ability to learn new software quickly
• Ability to process imagery and data for long periods of time on a computer
• Color vision is required
• Must work in the Chesterfield, MO office remote work is not available
• Full time hours with ability to work overtime is required

Image Processing Technician (February August 2020)

The Image Processing Technician creates and processes ortho photos from aerial digital imagery for mapping, including mosaicking, color balancing and editing.

• Understanding of maps and geographic coordinates
• Working knowledge of ESRI products and Global Mapper is preferred
• Photoshop experience is a plus

2-D Feature Collection (February August 2020)

The GIS Technician collects 2-D planimetric data and performs attribute manipulation within ESRIs ArcGIS suite. Vector based collection from satellite imagery.

• 1 - 2 years of experience in 2d feature collection, preferred
• Familiarity with ESRI SDE
• Knowledge of Jog (joint operations graphics) a plus
